Canavieiras is approximately 160 nm south of Salvador in the state of Bahia, Brazil. Salvador is the fourth largest city in Brazil and has some amazing historical sites, a fantastic Carnival and an international airport. From Salvador it is a 30 min flight south to Ilhéus.

Captain Shawn Wallace

Growing up on the Great Barrier Reef, Cairns, Australia, fishing and scuba diving with my father on school holidays, was the start to a spectacular life in the Big Game Fishing industry.

My apprenticeship was with Peter B Wright, Ron Hamlin (Capt. Hook), Dennis Brazakka Wallace and Laurie Wright just to name a few in some of the hottest fishing locations in the world.

Now with over 34 years experience and 20 Marlin weighed over 1000 lb and 18 granders and hundreds of 500 to 900 lb marlin released, the experience needed to catch these big fish is not a problem.

My crew in Canavieiras are all local guys trained by myself on international fishing methods and are the best in Brazil. They love their fishing and their enthusiasm and expertise will just add to your Canavieiras experience.

Renan Caught his first Blue marlin with Capt. Shawn Wallace at the age of 15 and worked his way from dock boy to crew, after a few years away Renan started with Majestic Marlin 6 years ago and in that time has become a very competent Capt. proving he can find, raise and catch these big blue Marlins. His skill set perfectly complements the other crew and he has been hands on a variety of billfish, Grander blues and the rush of handling anglers and fish during double headers and Grand slams. He also has good mechanical skills that are very handy to keep the boat on the fish

First Mate Andre Oliveira

Andre Oliveira

Andre Grew up in a local commercial fishing family. Andre was fishing from a young age and started Marlin fishing with Majestic Marlin 9 years ago.

The experience gained from fishing the Royal Charlotte Bank has made Andre a world class crewman and wireman. Extensive experience with a range of Billfish, wiring Blue Marlin up to Grander size. He has managed double headers on the deck and Frequent Grand slams. He is great company out on the big blue and his enthusiasm is infectious.
